Happy hump day! I'm so glad that this week is half over.  I'm ready for the weekend already.  Thanks for all of your comments on my last post.  I'm constantly amazed at the great support system we have going here.  As part of my "reaffirming my vows" with the band, I've been trying to really think about the helplessness I felt before I was banded.  I was at my sister's house Sunday and we were looking at old photo albums.  I was shocked to see this picture of  myself from Christmas 2004.  I'm so happy that I'm not there anymore, in so many ways, emotionally, physically...just in so many ways, I'm so much happier now.  I think it's important to keep our eyes toward the future, but also important not to lose track of the past.

Have a great rest of the week,
Big Hugs!

I'm glad this week is half over, too! I am so ready for this weekend, especially now! A friend of ours just told us that he, one of the Godfathers of the babies, will pick them up Friday from daycare so that Husby and I can go out. We have a deal at a local hotel burning a hole in our pocket that comes with wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a massage (amongst other amenities) so, we're booked! Reservations are made and now we just need Friday to get here!

Perspective is everything. The last time I weighed what I weigh today, I was miserable and not sure I'd ever really get things under control. Now, today, well, I'm not happy with where I am post-baby, but I know I put myself here and I know without a doubt I have the tools I need to get myself back out of this spot for good, too! Perspective is everything!

I can't believe that pic is you!

I'm not sure if it's just me reading into the pictures people post of their pre-band selves, but I get the sense (not just from yours but from all of them) that the smiles are just a little tentative and/or self-deprecating - almost like the 'old you' is thinking "Gah, do you have to take this picture? I guess I'll smile and try to make the best of it" -

Then I see post-band pics and the faces are just radiating with "OOH, SOMEBODY TAKE MY PICTURE - LOOK AT ME!!"

You really have come a long way - you look beautiful and confident!

I agree with Chris. You (and most other bloggers) look so much HAPPIER now. Like you've found the twinkle in your eye that's missing in these older photos. :)
