It's been 2 weeks since my surgery, I'm feeling very good! I get to move to solids today and I'm excited and a little nervous as well. I don't know what I'll have for lunch, but I know I want to make meatloaf for supper tonight. I've been craving meatloaf, how weird is that? Anyhoo, I went to a party last night. I had some hummus and some chicken salad and about 3 glasses of wine. I think that was great, and for the first time in my life, I was more interested in the conversation around the table than the food. I got to see my friend's daughter who was in town from Corpus, she got banded on Jan 19th, she is already down 50 pounds and looks incredible. We spent an hour talking lap band stuff and comparing scars. It was nice to talk to someone face to face who's going through the same thing.
Again, I just want to thank you guys for your support and encouragement. I just can't imagine how this journey would be without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Big Hug and happy Friday Eve!

Hooray for solids!!! Keep up the great work :)
My first solid was meatloaf too. I too craved it--Funny. And it was made with hamburger not ground chicken. I smothered it with BBQ sauce and also had some squash and mashed potatoes. YUM! Hope you enjoy yours as much. I even had seconds.
Now that you are on solids you might find your weight loss slow or stop. But solids-so much better than liquids and purees.
Meatloaf is a great start because its still soft. I love being back on regular food.
Oooh! I am so excited for you to start solids (and slightly jealous--I miss chewing!)
Bring on the solids...Don't get upset if the weight loss rises a little..Its normal...
Well done so far :-)
Oooooo, Enjoy! My first sold meal was like heaven. Youre going to love it. And you'll find you enjoy it more because you eat slow and are able to enjoy the texture, spices and flavor even more. It's pretty neat.
Yay for solids!
Yay for meatloaf. Now that you say that, it does sound good. And chicken salad. I can't wait to join you!!!
So excited for you my little Rosebud! Now go eat you some solids! Smooches.
Congrats on getting to solids! Things are going to get better.
Thanks for checking out my blog. It is great to see someone else close to my age going through the same experience at the same time!
