Got my first fill.

Well, finally after all the waiting, I got my first fill yesterday. I have a 10cc band, that was primed during surgery. I got 2 cc's yesterday. I feel fine, and definitely a little tighter. I had a bite of turkey this morning when I was fixing my son's lunch and, felt a little stuck. That's good.
I definitely have to be more mindful, as I have been pretty loose and have gotten out of the habit of chewing extra good.

I was surprised by the location of my port, which I thought was in a completely different spot than it is. My port is below my belly button by about 2 inches on the left side. I thought it was above my belly button and was a little freaked out by it, because I have this swollen area on the left side of my middle abdomen. I told my doc I thought my port was here, he said no, and grabbed my hand and let me feel my port. I had actually felt it before, but didn't know what it was. I know, I know....I have blond high-lights, does that count? So, now I'm wondering why this other area is swollen, but I didn't ask my surgeon, because...well remember the high-lights?
I do have my annual lady doc appointment today and she has a lap band, so I'll ask her.

I hope everyone has a great day today, I'm glad to have some restriction again and hope it lasts.
Hugs,
T

Hmm ... you definitely should find out about the other area of swelling. So the total in your band now is 2 ccs or is it more? Did they schedule you for another fill appt? If so, when? Boy, I'm nosey ... sorry.

My port is in the exact same spot. I can't feel mine externally, though. Still too much fat and/or swelling. Sigh.

Fingers crossed for good restriction or at least on the path to it.

@Sally, I guess, that if the primer in the band was just to fill the hose from the port to the band that I must just have 2 cc's. I have another fill scheduled in 5 weeks. You're not nosey,I'm glad to share.
@Band-babe, fingers definitely crossed.

Hmmm...I wonder what the swelling is, then. I hope all is well and that answers are found!

Glad you finally got your first fill! Take it easy.

My port is really low too. About 3-4 inches lower than I thought. I too have a swollen sort of hard spot near my big incision (I used to think that was the port). That's swelling is from my incision - cutting through muscle is a beast!

Eeeh gads...I'm presurgery and all of this talk is a bit scary! I don't "think" about the cutting part...just the getting skinny part. :) How cool is it that your lady dr. had lapband. Let us know what you find out about the swollen area. In my mind I pictured that I could feel my port at all times, and that was creeping me out a bit.
Good luck and I hope all is okay! Congrats on your first fill!

I'm definitely a little nervous about port placement and it will be a question I ask my surgeon on June 1st. I can see where it could be extremely uncomfortable if put in the wrong spot.

I hope you get restriction with this. I used to think my port was right under the big scar (but that's scar tissue). My has actually moved a little lower in in the last few months.

I'm two weeks behind you Tess...my first fill is June 2nd and I'm scared to death based on all of the stuck or tight posts I've been reading. I think the honeymoon is going to be over.

Wishing you some good restriction. Definitely find out what that other swollen area is.

It's great that your port is located lower, mine is below my breast bone and I had to give up underwire bras for a few weeks after surgery, it hurt like heck when I attempted to wear one a few days post.
